There are so much rumors about the Retina Display ( 2048 x 1536 high resolution) screen for iPad 2, The rumors looks true for iPad 3 not for the coming iPad 2. According to a report from IDC analyst Tom Mainelli, Apple is indeed working on a 2048×1536 screen, but has told manufacturers to save it for the iPad 3.
IDC research manager Tom Mainelli says:
I think the Digitimes story probably got the resolution right, but the iPad version wrong,” Mainelli told PCWorld via email. “Our sources say Apple has requested that manufacturers begin work on displays with that resolution for the iPad 3.”“I don’t believe anybody is ready to produce that resolution in volumes at this point. And Apple is going to require huge volumes for the iPad 2,” he added.
Putting such high resolution display will definitely require powerful Processor, good Graphic card and Ram on the iPad which looks bit odd right now. Apple will use such resolution in future but not for the coming iPad 2 which is rumored to launch in February. So don’t expect Retina Display 2048 x 1536 Resolution display for iPad 2 as it’s not possible right now.
