The unofficial Windows Phone 7 ROM for HD2 is in a great shape and many of the features are working as intended. As usual while flashing custom ROM, you are breaking warranty of your HTC HD2. We are not responsible if you damage your device. Proceed at your own risk.

Things you should know before you proceed:

• Make sure your HTC HD2 has enough battery charge (Min. 50%).
• Disable Standby and Hibernation modes in PC so that it won’t interfere with the upgrade process.

Just follow our simple step by step guide on how to install Windows Phone 7 On HTC HD2.

First of all download:
Download Windows Phone 7 ROM [Mirror 1] [Mirror 2] [Mirror 3].

Step 1:  Extract the downloaded contents

Step 2:  Connect your HTC HD2 to your computer via USB. Now double-click on “ROMUpdateUtility.exe” in the folder that you extracted.

Step 3:  In the ROM Update utility interface, check the box “I understand the caution indicated above and have reviewed the ReadMe” and then click “Next

Step 4: Check the box “I completed  the steps indicated above” and click “Next”.

Step 5: Wait till the system established connection with your HD2. Then click “Update”.

Step 6: The ROM version will now be upgraded to 2.00.000.0. Click “Next”.

Step 7: The process of upgrading the ROM takes around 10 minutes. Wait till it’s done. Your HTC HD2 will automatically reboot during the process.

Step 8: After reboot, your HD2 phone will boot into MAGLDR. Press volume-down key and choose the 5th option “USB Flasher”. Then press the left most call button on your HTC HD2 to enter it.

Step 9: Double-click on “DWI.exe” in the folder you extracted on your PC. This is the nothing but Windows Phone 7 ROM.

Step 10: In the DFT Windows Installer instructions window, click “Next”.

Step 11: Before flashing Windows Phone 7 ROM, the utility will confirm the upgrade process “Flash MAGLDR 1.12 first, then enter “5.USB Flasher” and run DWI. Click “Next”.

Step 12: Now Windows Phone 7 installation process will start. Keep patience. Don’t disconnect your Phone or touch it!
In a while you will see ROM getting uploaded to your HTC HD2. The process will take a while.

Step 13: After the process is complete, you will get status message “Congratulations! Installation successfully completed”. Your HD2 will now reboot with “DFT” logo screen followed by Windows Phone 7 boot screen!
