New Walkie-Talkie App by Heytell for iOS And Android Devices

HeyTell has created a new fun App named as "Walkie-Talkie". This App is available for both Android and iOS Devices. This App again after a long time has brought so much fun in our lives, Walkie-Talkies were once used when there were no smart phones. But with the arrival of Smart Phones walkie-talkies started to disappear, some of the phones still had some Push to talk (PTT) functionality but it didn't attracted that much people towards it, And nowadays we don't see any walkie-talkie's around. But Thanks to Heytell, at last they created an Walkie-Talkie in the shape of an App.
HeyTell is an app for the iPhone and Android phones that allows you to instantly send short voice messages to other users. Or, as they put it: “push-to-talk, starting at $0.”

The app is the brainchild of the husband-and-wife team, Steven Hugg and Jen Harvey, who created the company Voxilate. In the Fall of 2009, the two quit their jobs and decided they were going to focus on building some sort of application based around voice technology. By February of 2010, they had the idea to replicate the fun of a walkie-talkie. So, like any entrepreneurs with an idea, they decided to pack up their things and hit the road for a multi-month road trip across the United States.

Version 2.1.2:
  • Can now use speaker mode when external microphone plugged in. Tap the Speaker button to enable/disable speaker.
  • Updated Medium Privacy: Friends of friends can now contact you without sending invitations if they know your contact information and if you are using Medium Privacy.
  • Phone no longer goes to sleep while messages are actively playing.
  • Miscellaneous bug fixes.
  • The service boasts of three million users since its launch less than a year ago. Users are reportedly sending 1.5 million messages a day at a rate as high as 35 messages a second

Some of the group messaging apps like GroupMe and Beluga are getting a lot of love at the moment, But HeyTell is much larger than either. And they’ve also been cited as one potential app that could be big at this years SXSW festival.

You can download this App free from AppStore.
