Amazon.com Sued by Apple for using "Appstore TradeMark" [Report]

Apple has filed a lawsuit against the Amazon.com new trademark convention, In which they allow developers to Upload their Apps and Sell them through Amazon. And Amazon have put the Trademark "Appstore". As we know Apple App market is also known as Appstore so that's why they filed a lawsuit against Amazon on March 18. Amazon is using this "Appstore" name for their developer program since January.



Amazon.com since January has started to solicit developers for a future mobile software download service, Apple said. Amazon.com has used “Amazon Appstore Developer Portal” and “Amazon Appstore” in connection with this service, according to the complaint.
Apple has filed the suit 'cause of the following reasons, trademark infringement and unfair competitio. That is the Apple statement regarding this lawsuit,
“Amazon has begun improperly using Apple’s App Store mark in connection with Amazon’s mobile-software developer program,”
Amazon  has also started the same Appstore for Android Apps and named it as "Amazon Appstore".
Microsoft Opposed Apple for this Mark, As they think that it is a generic term. Apple contacted Amazon three time for this reason, but amazon has yet to provide a "substantive response".
