Unlocking Guide: How to use Windows Phone 7 as a USB Driver [How to]

As time passes by we are learning new tips and tricks about the Windows Phone 7, First we learned how to turn Windows Phone 7 as a 3G modem and now we learned how to use Windows Phone 7 as a USB Drive. So no need of memory stick in Windows Phone as now you can directly drag and drop stuff in your Windows Phone 7 by doing some tricks with your computer. This trick is computer specific so you can't use it as USB in any computer.

Here is a Guide on how to Use Windows Phone 7 as a USB Drive:

Step1: Open Registry editor in your PC by writing Regedit in your start menu (use either Run command or simply search it in Start menu)

Step 2: Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB; search for ZuneDriver

Step 3: Now simply edit three entries in your editor as shown in above picture (if using multiple Windows Phone 7 you will have to edit for every Phone) :

• Change EnableLegacySupport from 0 to 1
• Change PortableDeviceNameSpaceExcludeFromShell from 1 to 0
• Change ShowInShell from 0 to 1

Now you are ready to use Windows Phone 7 as a USB Drive. Simply plug your Device to computer and you are ready to use Windows Phone 7 as USB. One thing should be note here that you can drag stuff to your Windows Phone 7 but can't use that stuff on your Phone.
