Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 will not be completed before Chrstmas

On his twitter account Comex has just posted that he may not be able to release the untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS New bootrom and iPod Touch 4G by Christmas. It was initially expected that the untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak might be released somewhere around the Christmas Eve. But if this tweet by Comex is anything to go by, we may not see an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 by this Christmas.

Comex: I think I’m going to miss my Christmas deadline…
It’s still unclear whether an untethered version is still going to require saved SHSH blobs. As Apple isn’t signing 4.1 anymore, we’ll hope for those users on stock 4.2.1 you won’t need them.
Though the iPhone Dev Team is also working on Plan B untethered jailbreak, but Comex hack is more extensible and should not require access to the developer only 4.2b3 IPSW.
